Austin Torpedo is back after a long 4-year hiatus! New songs, new gigs and a new EP on the way!


Austin Torpedo hails from Kirkenes, Norway, just a few miles west of the Russian border. Surrounded by snow and pine woods, this little city on the edge of the world is immersed in total darkness most of the year, where temperatures creeps down to -30 celsius during the long winters (even -50 C once every few years). In this climate Austin Torpedo was born. While at first being more or less a joke band, just an excuse for the band members to warm themselves on beer and cigarettes while playing cheesy three-chord rock music, it quickly evolved into one of the loudest, fiercest and meanest bands ever to emerge from this little mining community.

Musically the band fuses Tom Rune's facination with 80's guitar music with the rhythm sections love of nasty punk into a hard-hitting, in-your-face rock'n'roll backdrop that's perfect for Janek's melodic vocals to wrap itself around. They call it: Råkken Råll!

Even though they have released one album and a few EP's over the years, live is where the band shines. Torpedo prides itself on not getting tangled up in all the rock'n'roll bullshit. They'll play whatever bar, whatever city. There's no huge stage with huge barriers between onlookers and band, there's no 6-million dollar lightshow and huge theatrics, there's no tripple-cd concept albums with deep, insightfull lyrics about the demise of man or space overlords. What you see is what you get, and what you see is five guys ready to play some god damned Råkken Råll! You can mosh to it, you can jump to it, you can even dance to it if you want. So leave your pretentiousness at home, come down to the gig, grab a beer and have some good old-fashioned FUN!
